In celebration of Schneider’s Sweet Shop’s 85th anniversary and Barleycorn’s 50th, the two combined forces to craft a beer inspired by Schneider’s cherry ice ball.
Barleycorn’s brewmaster, Shane Trego, created this limited-edition brew, “Schneider’s 85th Anniversary Ale.” It will be available for the first time at a tapping party on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. at Barleycorn’s Brewhouse in Wilder.

Ten percent of proceeds from the sale of the ale will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Cincinnati.
“The community means everything to us,” Kelly Morgan, third-generation owner of Schneider’s Sweet Shop, said in a press release. “Carrying on 85 years of Schneider family history and sweet traditions is something we’re very proud of.”
The tapping party at Barleycorn’s Brewhouse will kick off the larger celebration, which continues with Schneider’s 85th anniversary block party on Saturday, Sept. 21, from noon to 5 p.m. in Bellevue.
“We are honored to work with Schneider’s Sweet Shop, a local legend that has brought joy to so many families over the years,” Jay Shelton, CEO of Barleycorn’s Brewhouse said in the release. “This partnership is a perfect way to celebrate our shared commitment to quality and community.”
