Edwin King, the city administrator of Fort Mitchell, has successfully completed entry training for the Coast Guard Reserves.
He officially graduated at a ceremony on Aug. 30 in Cape May, New Jersey.
King trained for about a year and now enters the Coast Guard Reserves as a Petty Officer First Class. He will know later this year if he will receive an officer’s commission.
“We appreciate Edwin’s dedication and effort in both service to Fort Mitchell and to the United States Coast Guard,” said Fort Mitchell Mayor Jude Hehman. “His commitment exemplifies the value of leadership for our community and country.”
As a member of the Coast Guard Reserves, King must commit to performing duties for the Coast Guard one weekend a month, two weeks a year.
