Master Provisions, a faith-based food bank in Florence, has been nominated for Chik-fil-A’s True Inspiration Award, which puts the organization in the running for a $200,000 grant. The winners of the award will be determined by popular vote.

The Chik-fil-A location on Mall Road in Florence nominated the organization.

“We are so honored to partner with Master Provisions in securing the funding they need to help take care of our community,” said Dustin DiChiara, the lead operator at the restaurant. “The impact of their work ripples into many layers in our region, and we are delighted to lock arms with them to make a positive influence.”

The inspiration awards were founded in 2015 in honor of Chik-fil-A’s founder, S. Truett Cathy. Regional finalists are guaranteed $30,000, and winners will take home $200,000. Master Provisions is one of 30 finalists, out of about 2,600 organizations who either applied or were nominated, who made it to the regional finals round of the awards.

“It’s a huge honor to be named a regional finalist,” said Master Provisions President Shane Armstrong. “There are so many organizations making a positive impact across the nation, so to have made it this far means a lot to us. Food insecurity is a major issue with rapidly increasing needs, and we are so thankful for Chick-fil-A and their support in helping get hungry people fed.”
