Campbell County Board of Education member Josh Perkins resigned from his position at the board’s meeting on Aug. 19 due to a move out of his district.

Perkins was appointed to the board of education in February 2020 and was elected to a full term in November 2020, serving nearly five years as a board member.
“My election to a full term by the voters of District 2 on November 3rd of 2020 is one of the proudest days of my life,” Perkins said in his letter of resignation. “It is with a heavy heart that I close my service on the Campbell County School Board. I will continue to champion the cause of education and remain an advocate for the continued success of our district, albeit from a different vantage point.”
