Temporary road closures on U.S. 27 and the AA Highway in Cold Spring begin Thursday due to scheduled blasting operations associated with the Cold Spring Pointe development.

These sections of Alexandria Pike and AA Highway will be closed for approximately 10 minutes daily at 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will continue through Friday, Sept. 13.

Alexandria Pike’s closure area begins near Harvest Trail and extends onto the AA Highway overpass (13.35 – 13.85-mile points.) Traffic will be stopped in both directions.

The AA Highway closure area begins at Exit 14 to Alexandria Pike (13.55 – 14.3-mile points.) Traffic will be stopped in both directions.

Daily closures are necessary to ensure the safety of both construction workers and motorists during the controlled blasting operations, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The cabinet urges all motorists to plan their travel accordingly and seek alternate routes during these times to avoid delays.
