A back-to-school event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, to facilitate school supplies and resources for Latinx families in Boone County while eliminating the language barrier.
Organizers, FIESTA NKY and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicaid of Kentucky will give away school supplies like notebooks, pencils, backpacks and markers. An interpreter will be available to help families with translations as necessary.
The event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. There will also be a free yoga class for participants while families prepare for the new school year.
The back-to-school event will be held at the UK Boone County Extension Enrichment Center, 6028 Camp Ernst Road, Burlington.
