Elsmere City Council presented its first reading of an ordinance permitting greater fence heights at the Aug. 6 caucus meeting.
Under the codename Project Skyline, a Chick-fil-A distribution center and a Niagara Bottling facility are slated for development within the city of Elsmere. The developers seek to erect 8-foot-tall construction fencing around the former property, which is not permissible under the city’s unamended zoning code.
Once approved, the ordinance will amend the text to add one more foot to permissible fence heights in the GI zoning district.
The city will present its second reading of the ordinance at the upcoming Aug. 13 council meeting.
