People are welcome to bring their dogs to the Latonia Water Park and Splash Pad, located at the intersection of 43rd Street and Decoursey Avenue in Covington, to celebrate the end of the swim season Sunday, Aug. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Called Pups at the Pool, the event was held at Goebel Park Pool in the past, but the city announced the permanent closure of that pool in April.

“We are very excited to move pups at the pool to the new location,” said Alicia Chappell, Covington’s recreational program coordinator. “The water park’s features will allow more dogs with different physical abilities the opportunity to enjoy the water without having to go into a deep pool.”

City staff will have dog treats, bandanas and other activities available for visitors. Registration is not required, but owners will need to sign a waiver before the city will allow the dogs to use the facilities.
