Boone County Public Schools will offer free emotional and psychological counseling to local students and families in the wake of Saturday’s shooting, which saw the deaths of four people and the hospitalization of three others. The counseling will be offered beginning Monday, July 8, at Erpenbeck Elementary School from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“This weekend’s tragedy hit home to the Boone County community,” reads an announcement from the district. “Some of the victims were connected in some way to the Boone County School District. We would like it to be known that counseling services will be available for any students or families who may need support.”
The district declined to comment further at this time.
