The U.S. Air Quality Index has issued an air quality alert for much of the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati region for Thursday, June 13 due to an excess of ozone in the air.

The alert warns that the air quality is dangerous for people with asthma, teens and children, seniors and anyone who performs strenuous activity outside for more than six hours a day. Others groups are safe, according to the U.S. Air Quality Index.

The U.S. Air Quality Index recommends members of the highly sensitive group limit strenuous activity outside.

Check forecasts for air quality and see if your area is affected by entering your zip code into the U.S. Air Quality Index’s interactive online map service.
