The Alexandria City Council approved hiring its new treasurer to fill a vacancy.
Alexandria City Administrator David Plummer said the city had 20 applicants and held three interviews for the position, and Kelly Perry was selected for the role.
“There was one really clear standout, and that was Kelly,” Plummer said. “Kelly is currently working for another municipality as their fiscal clerk. So, she’s got plenty of experience with payroll, accounts receivable, benefits implementation, and records control, and she also has a history of accounting. So, she really kind of fit the role pretty well, and to top it off, she lives in the area.”
