Several last-minute candidate filings for the general election in November occurred last week and early this week—the deadline to file was Tuesday, June 4—have led to more contested races in Campbell County.
Races like the Newport Commission and Bellevue City Council were already contested, but several other cities have also become contested. This brings the total number of candidates running in contested races alone to 87.

- Soil and Water Conservation (5 candidates, vote for 4)
- Fort Thomas Independent School Board (4 candidates, vote for 2)
- Newport Independent School Board (4 candidates, vote for 3)
- Alexandria City Council (7 candidates, vote for 6)
- Bellevue City Council (11 candidates, vote for 6)
- Cold Spring City Council (10 candidates, vote for 6)
- Dayton City Council (8 candidates, vote for 6)
- Fort Thomas City Council (7 candidates, vote for 6)
- Highland Heights City Council (8 candidates, vote for 6)
- Newport Commissioner (5 candidates, vote for 4)
- Silver Grove City Council (10 candidates, vote for 6)
- Wilder City Council (8 candidates, vote for 6)
