Some last-minute candidate filings in Boone County last week and early this week—the deadline to file was Tuesday, June 4—have led to more contested races in the county for the general election in November.
Races like the Florence City Council and Boone County School Board Div. 1 were already contested, but several other races have also become contested. This brings the total number of candidates running in contested races alone to 23.

- Florence City Council (11 candidates, vote for 6)
- Union City Commissioner (5 candidates, vote for 4)
- Walton Mayor (vacancy) (2 candidates, vote for 1)
- Boone County School Board-Div. 1 (2 candidates, vote for 1)
- Boone County School Board-Div 2 (3 candidates, vote for 1)
