The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather alert for much of the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati region for Sunday afternoon and evening. Although widespread hazardous weather is unlikely, according to the National Weather Service’s announcement, certain weather events will be more likely to occur throughout the day.

“Thunderstorms are expected this afternoon with another round of thunderstorms forecast for tonight,” according to the National Weather Service. “Damaging winds will be the main severe weather threat, but isolated large hail and isolated tornadoes will also be possible. Rounds of heavy rain will lead to the potential for localized flash flooding.”
