The Covington Police Department’s Public Information Officer, Justin Bradbury, released a statement on the department’s social media on Saturday, warning residents against callers claiming to be Covington Police Sergeant Daniel Mitchell, Bradbury himself and other members of the force seemingly soliciting payments for fines, bonds and warrants over the phone.

“Neither Sgt. Daniel Mitchell, [Bradbury], or any other member of our agency will EVER tell you to pay any fine, warrant, or bond over the phone,” the post reads.
