The Campbell County Fiscal Court voted to enter into a memorandum of agreement to create and fund Northern Kentucky Works, also known as NKY Works.

One of the newest proposed solutions to address regional workforce challenges is creating NKY Works. Northern Kentucky Works would develop and oversee workforce policy and initiatives across Northern Kentucky while partnering with the region’s employers, educational institutions and other agencies to implement strategies that specifically address workforce challenges. It would replace GROW NKY as the region’s primary workforce development office.

The memorandum of agreement is with Kenton and Boone Counties and the Northern Kentucky Area Development District to support NKY Works. The Kenton County Fiscal Court voted to approve the initiative, while the Boone County Fiscal Court had a tie vote, resulting in the effort not passing.

Under the memorandum of agreement, the Northern Kentucky Area Development District would serve as the service provider, fiscal agent and employer of record for Northern Kentucky Works personnel.
