Alexandria is looking to hire a qualified Construction Manager at Risk for preconstruction and construction management services for the new city building and community center campus.

The project, located at 8822 Constable Drive, includes an approximately 20,400 square foot two-story administration building, an adjoining approximately 10,870 square foot community center building, a new police department garage, dumpster enclosure, constable street sidewalk, flagpole plaza, site signage, and landscaping.

According to the city, approximately 5.5 acres of new land disturbance is required for the site improvements and buildings. This includes vehicle parking, stormwater management, new site access at existing curb cuts from Alexandria Pike and Constable Road and extending or providing new utilities to structures.

In November, Alexandria hired CT Consultants architects for the comprehensive design services for the space. They also hired RSA Advisors, a Newport-based public financial advisory firm, to help the city identify its financing options.

The Construction Manager at Risk team must have experience with at least five projects with three comparable sizes or larger government and/or city-building campus facilities.

Interested applicants can find the request and application process here. All applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Additional questions may be directed to Alexandria City Administrator David Plummer at 859-448-2803.
