The 2023 Gold Star Teacher Award nomination closes Tuesday, Dec. 19, next week.

Created in partnership with Gold Star Chili and The Children’s Theater of Cincinnati, the award is open to any teacher in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region who demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to education.

“In addition to special recognition, this year’s 10 finalists will receive a gift basket featuring a $100 Gold Star gift card, student incentive meal cards and more,” according to a recent press release. “The overall grand-prize winning educator will take home this year’s top prize: A $1,000 grant, a $500 donation to their school, free cheese coneys for the entire school and much more.”

Rachel Blackwood, a teacher at Holmes High School, was nominated as a finalist in last year’s contest.
