Steve Webb, Covington’s director of finance, was honored as the Kentucky Government Finance Officers Association’s “Finance Officer of the Year” and elected as the group’s president for 2024 and 2025 at the group’s annual conference in Bowling Green last week.
Webb began working for the City of Covington in August 2022. He previously worked for the Northern Kentucky Area Development District, the State of Indiana and the City of Indianapolis.
“Steve is a true professional who cares deeply about his work,” city manager Ken Smith said in a recent press release from the city.
“The people who sit in the seat I’m sitting in and do the job I’m doing have looked at what Finance is doing here for the City of Covington and our employees and residents and concluded ‘Wow, this is something worth recognizing,’ ” Webb said. “That’s a sign of confidence and respect.”
