A large fire Sunday night completely destroyed a home in Independence.

The fire was first reported around 10 p.m., and fire crews from Independence arrived on the scene about ten minutes later, according to a statement from the fire chief.

The fire had engulfed the roughly 6,000-square-foot house, located at 11848 Straffordsburg Road, which sat about 2,000 feet from the road. Crews from Covington, Edgewood, Erlanger and Taylor Mill fire departments assisted in extinguishing the fire.

No one was injured or killed in the blaze, but the house was completely destroyed.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and the department said that no more information will be released until Kenton County Fire Investigation concludes its investigation.
