A multi-vehicle crash on I-275 east on top of the Licking River bridge Tuesday has resulted in the death of one person.
The crash occurred a little before 5 p.m. on Oct. 31, per a press release from Wilder Police. Early investigations indicate that drivers were slowing down for heavy traffic on I-275 East near the KY-9 exit ramp, and the accident happened while vehicles were changing lanes.
A tractor-trailer overturned during the collision, pushing a truck off the bridge, per police. The truck “went over the railing landed in a wooded area underneath the bridge,” and the driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Wilder Police Department and the Campbell County Special Investigations Response Team.
