Captain Gary Helton of the Kenton County Police Department issued a set of safety reminders for local residents at the meeting of the Kenton County Fiscal Court on Tuesday.
These safety tips included the following:
- Only trick or treat during your city’s legally designated times
- Children should be escorted by parents, guardians or other trusted adults at all times
- Candy should be examined before it’s allowed to be eaten
- Stay on sidewalks whenever possible
- Masks should not restrict vision or hearing too much so that children can be aware of their surroundings, especially as it relates to car traffic
- Do not allow children to enter strangers’ homes
- Carry a phone or other communication device for emergencies
- Have fun!
