St. Elizabeth Healthcare has gained recognition for its efforts to help babies sleep safely.

The healthcare provider received a Gold Safe Sleep Hospital designation due to its commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep, officials said.

The recognition is from the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program and Cribs for Kids, a national organization committed to baby sleep safety.

“For us to have the designation, to share this with the community and educate them on what it means, helps people feel safe coming to St. Elizabeth for care,” Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Educator Stefanie Clarke said. “We want families to know they’re getting the best care on our postpartum and neonatal intensive care units and feel confidently prepared to take their babies home.”
