Ludlow Independent Schools approved issuing about $10 million in bonds to finance construction and renovations of district facilities at the board of education meeting Thursday night.
Once issued, the bonds will provide funding for the school to pay contractors to perform construction around the district, including improvements to the cafeteria and auditorium.
The district had already secured $23 million from Kentucky’s School Facilities Construction Commission, which issues state funds for school construction projects throughout the commonwealth.
Construction is expected to begin in September.
