Highland Heights will officially become smoke-free Monday, Sept. 18, and will join three other neighboring Campbell County smoke-free cities.
Smoking will be prohibited inside any building or place of employment in Highland Heights, such as offices, hostels, factories, churches, bars, restaurants, bingo halls, bowling alleys and stores, according to a press release from the Northern Kentucky Health Department.
“We were asked to carry out the new ordinance in establishments that we inspect, and the Board of Health agreed,” said Jennifer Mooney, district director of health, Northern Kentucky Health Department. “We congratulate the Highland Heights City Council in taking this important step to improve the health of the community.”
