The City of Covington welcomed a new recruit to its police department on Monday, according to a recent announcement from the city.
“It’s a lifelong dream to be a police officer,” Jackson Sora, the new recruit, said in the city’s press release. “Then I did a ride-along during my freshman year of college, and I kind of fell in love with Covington.”
Sora currently serves in the National Guard and is seeking an officer’s commission with Army ROTC. He’s studying criminal justice and history at Northern Kentucky University.
“It’s great to have him with us,” said Covington Police Chief Brian Valenti. “We’re slowly but surely getting back to our manpower numbers.”
