On Friday evening Boone County Water Rescue removed a man, as well as a truck, boat and trailer from Camp Ernst Lake in Burlington, Boone County Water Rescue said via a media release. 

At approximately 5:09 p.m. Boone County Water Rescue was dispatched after receiving a report of a vehicle with an occupant in the water; with a witness and Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputy removing the man from the truck, the media release said. 

The man was examined by Burlington Fire and EMS and declined transport to medical care; Boone County Water Rescue public safety divers attached tow lines to the truck, enabling Smith Towing to retrieve the truck, trailer and boat from the lake; and there was no release of fuel or oil, the media release said. 

Items that floated from the partially submerged vehicle were retrieved and returned to the owner via a boat deployed by a Boone County Water Rescue crew, the media release said.
