One person is dead and another was taken to the hospital after a shooting in Covington.
Police responded to Russell Street near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard after 6 p.m. Tuesday for a reported shooting. When they arrived, police said they found two people shot.
One victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. The other victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the Covington Police Department.
The victim has been identified by investigators as 34-year-old Edgar Lopez.
Police said the shooting is believed to be connected to a fight that took place at another location.
Police said they are still working to identify the shooter.
