A resource night for people returning from incarceration or in addiction recovery is scheduled for Thursday in Covington.
The Northern Kentucky Reentry Resource Council’s is fourth annual Reentry Resource Night at the Life Learning Center is scheduled for Thursday, July 27 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
While the main focus of the event will be to provide resources for people in addiction recovery or who have recently been incarcerated, all are invited to attend the family friendly, community focused event.
“We’ve seen a lot of growth in this event over the past four years,” Reentry Resource Night Committee Chair Rob Venable said in a news release. “Each year, it’s my personal goal to challenge the committee and our community to better support the needs of those reentering society. It’s important to remember that these people are our neighbors — why wouldn’t we want them to succeed?”
Brighton Center’s Center Table, a social enterprise catering company, will be providing food at the event. Master Provisions, a distributor of resources to partner nonprofit agencies that serve people in need, is providing refreshments.
The event will also include entertainment, with live music from Chrome Inc.
Additionally, this year’s event will have a car and bike show. Participants in the show will compete to win prizes for their showcased vehicles. Registration is $10.
Life Learning Center and over 70 community partners are scheduled to provide resources for those in attendance.
The vent will take place at 20 W. 18th St. in Covington.
