The Kenton County Fiscal Court presented Bruno Giacomuzzi with the Pioneer Award at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Originally from Chicago, Giacomuzzi moved to Northern Kentucky in 2015 to serve as the Chief Operating Officer of St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. He’s worked in healthcare leadership for 42 years.

“I’m just really blessed to, first of all, be here in this community,” Giacomuzzi said at the meeting. “I’m blessed to work for St. E’s as long as I have.”

Currently, Giacomuzzi is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for St. Elizabeth Healthcare and oversees the operations of St. Elizabeth Florence Hospital and St. Elizabeth Grant County Hospital.

Recently, he’s served as the President of the Transitions, Inc. board of directors, Covington Business Council board of directors and the Catalytic Fund board of directors, as well as a board member for the Catalytic Fund Investment Committee. Additionally, Giacomuzzi led the Northern Kentucky Heart Chase event for the American Heart Association four times.

Giacomuzzi graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and St. Xavier University with a master’s degree in public health.
