The Boone County Fiscal Court has designated a group of Public Works Department recycling bins as surplus.
“This is to surplus 12 aged recycling bins that are in various stages of disrepair,” Boone County Assistant County Administrator/County Engineer Rob Franxman said. “It costs us some money to keep them in operation and we’ve got a surplus of them at the moment.”
Each of the bins was purchased with grant funding through the Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area, Franxman said.
“Since these bins were purchased through the Solid Waste Management Area, normal protocol is to donate the bins to a public waste management program in the state of Kentucky,” Franxman said.
