The Boone County Public Library’s Virtual Branch is hosting a National Park Service presentation examining the discovery of shark fossils at Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave National Park.
The Sharks of Mammoth Cave explores the discovery of shark fossils 700 miles from the nearest ocean. According to researchers, the fossils are 350 million years old and are discovered in limestones formed during the Late Paleozoic period, known to geologists as the Mississippian Period.
