Cold Spring has entered into an agreement with Kenton County Regional SWAT for support in responding to serious threats.

With the passage of the amendment, Cold Spring joins several other cities in Campbell and Kenton counties that have entered into similar agreements that provide operators for the team as well as crisis negotiators.

“The team is called upon to assist with high risk search warrants, arrest warrants, barricaded subjects, hostage situations, active shooters, and other high risk scenarios,” according to the KCRS website.

The Kenton County police participate in the swat team and operate under the authority of the Kenton County Sheriff.
