A Grant County man is in custody weeks after a fatal crash, Kentucky State Highway Patrol said.

KSP’s Dry Ridge post said a call came in just before 8 p.m. May 17 for a crash on the 740 block of S. Main Street in Williamstown. Two vehicles were involved.

Trooper David Jones said a passenger inside one of the vehicles was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Daniel Jones McDaniel II, 32, has been charged with driving under the influence second offense, vehicular homicide, assault second degree and criminal mischief first degree, KSP investigators said in a press release.

He is currently being held at the Grant County Detention Center, police said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to KSP.
