The Kenton County Public Library is commencing their Summer Reading Celebration with three free kickoff events this Saturday, June 3. Children and families can win prizes, play games and make crafts.
The event runs from June 1 through July 31 to promote reading.
Erlanger Branch, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
401 Kenton Lands Road, Erlanger
Attendees can kick off summer reading with a sing-along dance party, video game truck, jump rope performers, roaming balloon artist, water play, giant games, arts and crafts, parachute play and card decorating. Free snacks and popsicles are available while supplies last.
Independence Branch, 12 – 2:30 p.m.
1992 Walton-Nicholson Road, Independence
This event will feature carnival-style games, food, inflatables and a librarian dunk tank.
Covington Brand, 1 – 3 p.m.
502 Scott St., Covington
Attendees can kick off summer reading with a word art community quilt, face painting, roaming juggler, balloon twister, scavenger hunt, games and treats. Additionally, attendees can record interviews with their families by learning how to use KCPL’s Opal History Kits. Parking is free at the Midtown parking garage.
