A record number of students graduated from Gateway Community & Technical College during a commencement ceremony held on May 11, the school said Tuesday.
1,583 students graduated from their general education and technical programs, per a release from the college. The commencement ceremony was held at Truist Arena and around 320 people walked across the stage to accept their diploma.
According to Gateway, this year’s graduation included 98 dual-credit high school students and 136 students who received their General Equivalency Diplomas.
“Each and every student who comes to Gateway has their own unique path, but what you all share is your desire to create more for yourself – you wanted to make a better life for yourself and your families. No matter how you got here, where you came from, or what you decide to do next, you will always have a place here at Gateway and in Northern Kentucky,” said President Dr. Fernando Figueroa.
