Boone County Schools students whose families qualify for reduced lunches will now be able to receive lunches completely free.

Starting with the 2023-2024 school year, the Board of Education decided to eliminate the partial payment at their May 11 meeting.

Nearly 46% of the 20,280 students in the Boone County Schools will have free lunches next year, according to the board.

The Board also voted to keep student fees at the 2022-2023 level.  Half of student fees are used to maintain and replace Chromebook computers used by Boone County students.
