Runners to your mark for the 25th iteration of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon this weekend.

From May 5 to 7, over 40,000 runners from all 50 US states and 31 countries will participate in various races. This includes a marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k, 4-person relay, Flying Fur, PigAbilities and Flying Piglet races.

Limited spots remain for the marathon, four-person relay, Fifty West Mile, and PigAbilities. The half marathon, 10k, 5k, Flying Fur, 26th Mile and Flying Piglet races are already sold out.

The main event, the Flying Pig Marathon, will begin with the opening ceremonies at 6:15 a.m. on May 7 at the start line on Elm Street at Freedom Way.

Participants can pick up information packets for all events starting on Friday, May 5 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati.

First run in 1999, the race has turned into a major event that raises over $1 million for charity every year. The Flying Pig Weekend generates approximately $14 million of annual economic impact, according to a study conducted by Xavier University.
