Coda Co. Boho Gifts & Decor is expanding into Covington, owner Kelti Ziese confirmed to LINK nky.

Co-founded in 2017 by Kelti and her husband Tanner, the eclectic bohemian home decor & goods shop began at 400 Fairfield Ave. in Bellevue. The boutique specializes in transforming old or unused items, such as bourbon barrels, into unique pieces of furniture or home decor.

Their second location will be located at 617 Madison Ave. in Covington. The space was formerly occupied by streetwear shop Sole by Style, who moved out last November.

“It seems like the area’s just growing more and more, and the community is growing — it’s such a hub for small business,” Ziese said. “We’re just excited to be a part of it.”

On their Facebook page, Coda Co. announced a grand opening ceremony set for Saturday, April 15, from noon to 7 p.m.

Coda Co. was originally set to move into the space last November. However, they were forced to postpone their grand opening due to a “flooding emergency” in the building which affected the storefront.

According to Ziese, the space was attractive due to its prominent location on Madison Avenue and its proximity to other popular businesses in Covington’s Central Business District.

“Where we’re at is right on the corner of Madison and Pike, and we thought that, with the hustle and bustle right there, if we’re gonna do it, this would be a great time,” Ziese said.

Initially, Ziese said they weren’t looking to expand, but when the building’s landlord informed them of the space’s availability after Sole by Style moved out, the opportunity became too enticing to pass up.

“We weren’t necessarily looking to expand right off the bat, but then the landlord actually came into our Bellevue shop and mentioned that she had a space available and if we knew anyone who might be interested,” Ziese said. “That got us thinking.”
