Ludlow Mayor Chris Wright released the first of his From the Desk of Mayor Wright quarterly newsletters this month. Wright hopes to use the newsletter keep citizens abreast of important projects and happenings.
“When I made the decision to run for Mayor of Ludlow, one of the natural first steps was to begin to develop a vision of where I believed we should go and how I wanted to get there,” Wright said in the newsletter.
The Riverfront Commons project, brainchild of the nonprofit organization Southbank Partners, is one such venture on Wright’s mind. Linking over 11 miles from Ludlow to Fort Thomas with paved trails for biking and walking, the potential exists to expand economic life in Ludlow. Wright aims to see the project succeed to completion to provide enriching infrastructure to the community.
“During my tenure on council, the question would periodically arise regarding how we could do a better job of drawing folks into town who were utilizing Devou Park,” he said. Having The Commons trail as a mode of transportation, which also offers access to lively local businesses and events will hopefully drive down welcome foot traffic from Devou and beyond into Ludlow, Wright said.
Other notable tidbits found in the newsletter, along with summaries of current significant Ludlow projects, are upcoming dates for community events. Spring clean ups, special trash pickups, yard sales, and the monthly Coffee With the Mayor hosted at Ludlow Coffee are just a few.
With a will to connect with the Ludlow community and drive Ludlow forward as a collective effort, Wright said he wants you to know that he takes his role to heart. Read the newsletter here.
