Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on the avenue with Bellevue’s ShamRock N’ Roll event

Bellevue is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day Friday night with McGing Irish dancers and continuing into the night with food and live music.

The event will take place along Washington Avenue and Fairfield Avenue, which will both be closed to traffic. Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m.

Bagpipes can be heard along the avenue, along with live music performances from various artists spanning Fairfield’s 200-700 blocks from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Some businesses will start celebrations early in the day, and some will go later than 8 p.m.; follow the city’s Facebook page for updates. Participants can enjoy a drink out of a BED (Bellevue Entertainment District) cup. Drinks in BED cups can be carried, possessed, and consumed on Fairfield Avenue sidewalks, crosswalks, and in participating Fairfield Avenue businesses.
