As storms continue to develop Friday, a tornado watch has been issued for much of the region.

Storms have been rolling through the area for most of the day, with Gov. Andy Beshear declaring a state of emergency Friday morning. Beshear said this allows the state to be better prepared to respond as quickly as possible if there are “real concerns and dangers to our people.”

Per the National Weather Service, the watch is in effect until 7 p.m.

Rain, hail are wind gusts up to 70 mph are predicted as well as possible tornados.
