A woman was struck and killed by a train Thursday near the area of Mary Ingles Highway by Riverside Marina at approximately 7:45 a.m., per Fort Thomas police.
Officers responded to the scene for a subject struck by a train. Upon arrival, officers were able to locate the train and found a woman deceased at the scene.
Campbell County Special Investigations Response Team was requested to respond to the scene to assist with the investigation. The investigation is still ongoing, and no further information is available at this time, according to Noe.
No charges are expected as a result of the incident.
At the request and respect of the family, Noe said they would not be releasing the decedent’s name at this time.
Fort Thomas Police had the area blocked off by a Fort Thomas Police cruiser while they were on the scene near the intersection of Tower Hill Rd. and Mary Ingles Highway.
