Regional Youth Leadership, an NKY Chamber of Commerce initiative looking to enhance the professional skills of young people in the region, is seeking community volunteers to assist with a networking exercise during their February Life Success Skills session.
The session focuses on teaching students the basics of budgeting, financial literacy, career exploration, elevator pitching and networking. Through this training, Regional Youth Leadership will introduce the networking basics such as a firm handshake, maintaining eye contact and speaking clearly.
The planning committee is asking volunteers to include a name tag, as well as supplying a few buzzwords and phrases to help the students as they network. The phrases could be something about your job, industry, volunteer experiences, hobbies, etc. It does not have to be directly tied to your profession.
The session will be held at the Atlas Air in Erlanger on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Volunteers would be asked to arrive around 1:30 with the networking event to run from 1:45 to 2:30 with an informal debrief to follow. Prospective volunteers are asked to contact Ann Marie Whelan at amwhelan@nkychamber.com.
