The Boone County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the victim involved in a fatal crash on Monday.

Travis Jacob Freas, 30, of Cincinnati, was killed in an early-morning collision in Hebron. Freas was operating a 2006 Honda Accord. The other driver was Maria Havens, 37, of Burlington, who was driving a 2018 Nissan Rogue.

Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to North Bend Road, just north of Gateway Boulevard in Hebron for a reported collision Monday just after 8 a.m.

Once on scene, first responders observed a person deceased inside of an involved vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

Preliminary indications suggest that two vehicles were driving side-by-side in their respective lanes, traveling southbound on North Bend Road, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

The collision first occurred in the travel portion of North Bend Road, which caused both vehicles to lose control off of the right side of the roadway, the sheriff’s office said.

One vehicle continued along the embankment and maneuvered back onto North Bend Road where it stopped, facing south, the press release said. The driver sustained minor injuries. The other vehicle struck a telephone pole and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.
