The Boone County Elder Abuse Prevention Task Force will be hosting a town hall to raise awareness about elder abuse and scams, as well as strategies to avoid becoming a victim of these threats.
It will be held on Oct. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Boone County Public Library (1786 Burlington Pike, Burlington).
This town hall will feature presentations from the offices of the Kentucky Attorney General and the Boone County Commonwealth’s Attorney. In addition, there will be an expert panel discussion on how to protect yourself and family members.
This multi-agency task force is designed to help the aging adult population avoid becoming a target and a victim of fraud and scams, an announcement said.
While this is a public event, all attendees will need to register by calling the Boone County Fiscal Court at 859-334-3571 or registering online through this link.
