A 29-year-old male was recently arrested and charged with rape, sodomy and kidnapping after it was reported that he violently assaulted a woman in an Erlanger parking lot and left her there.
A report on the arrest of Jamal Richardson, 29, of Cincinnati, came from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday afternoon. According to authorities, the victim met Richardson through social media on July 29. At her request, they met the same day. She entered his car, believing he would drive her to her grandmother’s home.
While driving, Richardson began repeatedly punching the victim in the face. Between each assault, he would insinuate to her that he was armed with a weapon. In total, the victim estimates that Richardson punched her approximately 20 times, according to the sheriff’s office.
She told detectives that she feared he would kill her if she tried to run.
Richardson parked the vehicle in a gravel parking lot on Mineola Pike at Dolwick Drive, in Erlanger, and told her to remove her clothes. Richardson then raped and sodomized the victim in the parking lot, according to the report. After the assault, she said Richardson drove away and left her stranded in the lot.
Detectives obtained a warrant of arrest and charged Jamal L. Richardson with one count each of rape, sodomy and kidnapping of an adult. Richardson is currently lodged at the Warren County Jail in Ohio on a $500,000 bond, where he awaits extradition to Boone County.
