A four-story condo and retail development is moving into the six-acre property at Brilliance Avenue and U.S. 42.

The Grammas Center, named for the family that has owned the property for over 15 years, recently announced plans to build 12 four-story condos and open space for businesses to move in.

The $50 million project was discussed in a video between Union Mayor Larry Solomon and developer Nick Grammas. Both in the video and in a recent State of the City letter to residents, Solomon said Union’s contribution to the project will be the extension of Brilliance Avenue.

The mayor said extending the road all the way to Mt. Zion Road will allow better in and out access for future residents of the Grammas Center, as well as easier access for residents of the Harmony subdivision next door to the future shopping center.

Solomon said the project is due to be completed sometime in 2024.
