Today may be the last day drivers have to say a prayer for their cars as potholes on Interstate 71 in Boone County will see repairs in the early morning hours on Friday.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 6 Office is advising motorists that Boone County highway crews will be patching potholes on I-71 starting at midnight Thursday and into Friday morning, April 29. A rolling roadblock will be used so that crews can address potholes in both lanes.
Headed southbound, a crew will patch areas between mile markers 77.7 and 69.9. They will start at the Gallatin County line at midnight. Repairs will be made in the northbound lanes in the same area on I-71. Work should be complete by 5 a.m. Drivers in the area should expect delays during the patchwork.
