Kenton County residents can drop off non-hazardous household waste in two different locations in Kenton County this weekend as part of the Kenton County Public Works spring clean-up event.

Friday, April 29, and Saturday, April 30, you can drop off items at the Public Works Campus at 420 Independence Station Road, Independence from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. This is the only location that accepts tires and appliances.

Trash drop-off is also being accepted at Piner Elementary School, 2845 Piner Ridge Road, Morning View. Friday, April 29, from 8 a.m.-6p.m. and Saturday, April 30, from 8 a.m.-2p.m.

Clean-ups are intended for Kenton County residents only. You will need to bring proof of residency such as a driver’s license with a current address or a current trash bill. No businesses are permitted.

Along with hazardous materials, anything with a title, such as boats and cars, will also not be accepted.

“It’s always a really big event,” Public Works Director Nick Hendrix said. “Normally we’ll go through somewhere between 20 and 25 dumpsters. So, it’s that time of the year.”
